The thought of a boudoir session can be scary. When talking to women about their session, I get asked all kinds of questions. So I compiled a list of my 12 most frequently asked questions to give you some insight on preparing for a boudoir session with me!
"Do you share my images?"
Our number 1 priority is making sure our clients are comfortable, especially with boudoir! It can be a life-changing experience, but that also makes it nerve wracking!
Sometimes, you are learning how to love your body, and you aren't quite ready to share the images with the world. Or sometimes, these photos are specifically for your spouse or yourself and no one else's eyes.
These are all great reasons for not sharing your photos, and it all depends on your personal preferences! If there are photos that I would like to share, I will ask your permission first, and only share what you are comfortable with.
"Do I have to wear lingerie?"
You definitely don't have to specifically wear lingerie, it depends on your personality! There are a BUNCH of outfit ideas other than lacy little things! Check out our blog on choosing outfits for more ideas!
"Do you have payment plans?"
Yes, we offer payment plans for any of the packages! The sitting fee holds your date, and we can do 6-month installments for packages. Let us know if you would like to set something up!
"Is hair and makeup included?"
Hair and makeup is included in all of our full sessions! I think it's really important for you to feel pampered, and having your hair and makeup done is a great way to do that.
Our amazing artists can help you complete your look, whether it's "I just woke up like this" or full on glam! You can bring any ideas you want for your makeup, and we can use it as inspiration.
"Do you Photoshop my images?"
I do edit your images for light, exposure, and color balance. I do NOT however edit anything "out" that is permanent. I think it can be damaging to have a boudoir session done, and then edit out parts of yourself that make you who you are. Part of the process of accepting yourself and seeing your beauty also means not photoshopping out parts of yourself you don't like.
That being said, I will take specific requests. However, if there are parts of yourself that you are learning to love and aren't thrilled about, that is okay! We are skilled in posing and lighting to make you look your absolute best and bring out your shine!
"Where should I buy my outfits?"
There are a few places to buy outfits from, and it depends on what you are getting and the style of your session. Here is a long list to choose from with different styles and sizing: Forever21, Adoreme.com, Torrid, eberjay.com, Aerie, foreveryourslingerie.ca, hipsandcurves.com, jasminestaceycollection.com.
There are also some small businesses locally I can recommend depending on what you're looking for, plus we have some pieces in our client closet to use. This is all discussed in your session planning appointment.
"What type of print products do you have?"
We offer a variety of albums, wall art, and luxurious boxes to store your prints in. The acrylic album with a cutout image in the front is my favorite. Plus I absolutely love the feeling of picking up a physical print - it's so surreal to see yourself like that!
"I have my four favorite portraits hanging on my bedroom wall, which serves as a motivation/inspiration board. At first I packed them away in my closet feeling a bit weird about hanging portraits of myself, but then I figured I look hot in these, and I want to aspire to feel like this everyday!" -Amanda on her experience at her session!
"Do you offer digitals?"
All of our packages include digitals and prints as well as an album, but there is also an A La Carte list that you can choose from that has wall art, print boxes, and more.
"I'm freaking out! How can I calm my nerves?"
Nerves are all part of the experience! I always say that it would probably be weird if you WEREN'T nervous. The nervousness in the beginning of your session makes your moment of "WOW" seeing your portraits for the first time so much better! And I promise your anxiety will fade as the session goes on.
"How many outfits should I bring?"
We can get through a handful of different outfits in one session - the more variety the better! You can always bring more, and I will help narrow it down at your session!
"Should I get to my session early?"
You are welcome to arrive about 10 minutes early to chat and look over your outfits before we start hair and makeup.
"Where is your studio located?"
